Police arrest suspect for back-to-back Queens subway stabbings

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD arrested a man they believe to be responsible for two different Queens subway knife attacks on Friday and Saturday.

Police suspect Donny Ubiera, a 32-year-old from Clearview, stabbed a man in the face in a Long Island City subway station on Friday and then slashed another man's throat in Jackson Heights on Saturday.

The attacker cut a 62-year-old man's face unprovoked at the Queensboro Plaza 7 train stop around 8:40 a.m. on Friday, according to officials.

A 55-year-old man was injured in the next attack at the 7 train platform at the Roosevelt Avenue-Jackson Heights station on 74th Street around 7:20 a.m. on Saturday, authorities said.

Emergency responders rushed both victims to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.
