NEW VIDEO: Police believe trio behind 3 assaults in Brooklyn over 4-hour span

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – Police released new videos Friday as they search for three people wanted in connection with a string of assaults in Brooklyn over the span of a several hours this week.

The new videos show a man being sucker-punched in the face as he walks down a sidewalk and another man being punched as he rides a bike down a street, causing him to fall to the pavement.

Police said the two men and a woman were assaulted between about 4:20 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Tuesday in Sheepshead Bay.

The first attack happened just before 4:30 p.m. in front of 2428 East 27th St. One of the men allegedly asked an 81-year-old man "Where is the B44 bus?"

As the man answered the question, he was punched in the face, police said. The suspect then fled southbound along East 27th Street toward Avenue Y.

Police said the 81-year-old suffered facial bruising but refused medical attention.

The next attack happened only about 20 minutes later near Avenue U and East 29th Street.

It was there that police said a 64-year-old man walking on the sidewalk was approached by the group and punched in the face unprovoked.

The victim was treated at the scene by EMS.

The third attack happened at about 8 p.m. on that same day near 2959 Avenue Y.

This time, a 76-year-old woman was walking when a person approached her and asked a question, police said. While answering, authorities said she was punched in the face, and the suspect fled on foot.

The woman was treated at the scene by EMS.

It's unclear if the video of the bicyclist being punched is connected to one of the three reported incidents or is an additional incident police believe to be linked to the assault pattern.

Anyone with information in the cases is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
