Police investigate death of 11-month-old girl found unconscious in Bronx apartment

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – An 11-month-old girl died after she was found unresponsive at her family’s apartment in the Bronx on Wednesday night, police said Thursday amid an investigation into her death.

NYPD officers responded to a 911 call around 7:40 p.m. about Jazeli Mirabal, who was found unconscious and barely breathing at 1314 West Farms Rd. in Crotona Park East.

EMS rushed her to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The medical examiner’s office is working to determine her cause of death.

The child’s mother was in the apartment when officers arrived and has been talking with police, sources said.

NYPD detectives were seen going in and out of the building as the investigation continued Thursday morning.

No charges have been filed in the case.
