
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is investigating the death of a toddler in Brooklyn Sunday morning, police said.

Cops responding to a 911 call to a Baltic Street apartment in Gowanus around 5:30 a.m. were greeted by a mother holding her 4-year-old boy, who was having difficulty breathing, police said.
First responders attempted to perform CPR on the toddler, who was transported to Brooklyn Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Police have taken a person of interest into custody for questioning in the toddler’s death, police said.
An investigation is ongoing.
