NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man who stole eight pints of Häagen-Dazs ice cream from an E. Harlem pharmacy was rescued from a ledge by police after a chase on Tuesday, the NYPD said.
The 30-year-old man allegedly stole the pints of ice cream from the CVS at Lexington Avenue and E. 97th Street around 10 a.m.
The theft sparked a police chase that ended with the man clinging to a ledge above an alleyway on E. 98th Street, according to police, who said he had climbed a fence before getting stuck on the ledge.
The man was rescued by NYPD Special Ops. The NYPD tweeted a photo of the man hanging from the ledge before his arrest.
