NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police rescued a man who climbed a Roosevelt Island tramway tower on Monday evening.

Citizen App video shows the man atop the 250-foot-tall tower as police responded around 7 p.m.

The NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit reached him and brought him to safety.

He was taken into custody and to a hospital, police said.

The man was eventually retrieved by police, who took him into custody and transported him to a hospital
