NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police were searching for a man in a top hat Wednesday in connection with a stabbing on the Lower East Side that left three men wounded.
Police said a fight over money or food, possibly in a grocery store, led to the stabbing just after 1 a.m. at Bowery and Delancey.
A man in his 40s—dressed in dark clothing and a top hat—brandished a knife and stabbed a 26-year-old man in the stomach, according to police.

When the victim's friends intervened, they were also attacked by the suspect. A 19-year-old was slashed in the arm and a 21-year-old man was stabbed in the shoulder.
All of the victims were taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
Witnesses said the suspect was last seen running on Delancey, possibly towards the subway.
The NYPD is reviewing surveillance footage to try to track him down.
