NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – More than 30 pro-Palestinian protesters were arrested after interrupting the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Sixth Avenue on Thursday.
Several protesters holding a sign that read “Genocide then genocide now” appeared near 45th Street at 11 a.m.
A total of 34 protestors were arrested, according to police. Thirty protesters received summonses for trespassing, while four faced criminal charges for resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, trespassing, and disorderly conduct.

Videos circulating on social media captured the moment the protesters, donning white jumpsuits smeared with fake blood, walked on the parade route.
Some protesters' jumpsuits had the words “Colonialism,” “Militarism,” and “Ethnic Cleansing” on them. They were also seen pouring fake blood on one another and the roadway. Others held a banner reading “Liberation for Palestine and planet.”
The act caused a pause in the parade, rerouting balloons and floats heading to Macy's flagship store at Herald Square.
The police said, "several individuals were taken into custody," but did not provide an exact number.
The parade has resumed, detouring around the police activity.
