NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD released photos on Friday of a man wanted in connection with at least two armed robberies that occurred in Manhattan earlier this week.
According to police, the suspect targeted two victims within a span of less than 20 minutes on Tuesday, June 30. The first incident took place at approximately 7:13 p.m. in front of 135 West 18th St. in Chelsea, where a 30-year-old man was approached from behind. The suspect brandished a firearm, demanded property, and stole the victim's watch—valued at roughly $1,000—before fleeing eastbound on foot.
Minutes later, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the suspect struck again near the corner of 3rd Avenue and East 14th Street in the East Village. According to officials, 28-year-old man was walking when the gunman approached him from behind, displayed a firearm, and demanded his belongings.
The suspect was unsuccessful and fled on foot into the 3rd Avenue subway stat.
The victim sustained minor injuries was treated at the scene by EMS.
