The man, Andrew Ramsaroop, met up with the girl at Smith Haven Mall in Long Island on May 13 and tried to get her and her friend into his vehicle but the girls refused, officials said.

Later that day, the victim met up with Ramsaroop at a playground on Devonshire Road in Hauppauge, cops said.

At the park, Ramsaroop raped the victim. She later told someone at her school about the rape and school officials contacted police.

Ramsaroop was charged with 2nd degree rape, criminal sexual acts and endangering the welfare of a child. He was held overnight at jail and arraigned on Saturday.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452 or anonymously to Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
