NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 75-year-old man was arrested for the 2025 murder of his 34-year-old wife, whose remains were discovered in two different Queens locations, authorities announced Wednesday.
Rupchand Simboo faces charges of murder, obstructing governmental administration, and two counts of tampering with physical evidence.
Sources told 1010 WINS that Simboo and the victim, Salisha Ali, met in 2023. They maintained a long-distance relationship while Ali lived in Trinidad, before she moved to Queens in 2024 to marry Simboo.
Ali was last seen alive by a relative via FaceTime on July 13, 2025. Simboo himself filed a missing persons report for her that very same day, officials said.
were discovered across different Queens lo. On Sept. 22, 2025, Department of Sanitation workers found Ali's skeletal remains inside a garbage bag near 149th Avenue and Brookville Boulevard in Springfield Gardens.
The medical examiner officially ruled the death a homicide on Jan. 31. Additional remains belonging to Ali were located in the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge on March 5.
The motive leading to her death remains unclear.
