NEW YORK (1010 WINS/ WCBS 880 NEWS) – A Queens man was charged on Wednesday after allegedly shooting at a tractor-trailer in a road rage incident on I-78 earlier this month, prosecutors said.

On Dec. 15, Collen M. Brown, 25, was behind the wheel of a pickup truck when he allegedly got into a heated argument with a tractor-trailer driver while driving eastbound on the highway in Readington Township, New Jersey, according to court documents.

During the argument, Brown allegedly discharged a 9 mm handgun, striking the engine compartment of the tractor-trailer.

The tractor-trailer became disabled and pulled over to the shoulder of the highway. The driver of the tractor-trailer was unharmed and reported the incident to the police.

Brown allegedly fled the scene, continuing eastbound.

After an investigation police identified the suspect as Brown, from Jamaica, New York.

Brown was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including possession of a handgun without obtaining the required permit to carry.

Additionally, he faces charges of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and aggravated assault.

Brown will appear in court on Jan. 2, 2024.
