NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 32-year-old man was convicted on Tuesday for a 2020 gang-related murder in Far Rockaway, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced Wednesday.

Otis Moore, a member of the Redfern Rowdy Gang, shot the unnamed victim as he exited the Dix McBride Apartments around 11:45 p.m. on May 17, 2020.
Emergency responders treated the victim on the scene, likely saving his life.
The victim was able to identify Moore as the shooter, and security footage of the shooting corroborated his report.
“Following a nine-day trial, a jury has determined that the defendant is guilty of using a firearm in an attempt to take another human life,” said Katz in a statement. “Holding individuals to account when they use firearms to cause misery in our communities will remain a top priority for my Office. This defendant will now face a lengthy prison sentence for his actions.”
Moore faces charges of attempted murder, attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
He’s slated to be sentenced by a Queens Supreme Court judge on June 8 and faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
