NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Queens man was convicted of murder and multiple other charges for the brutal 2023 killings of his mother and brother in the home they shared.

Roscoe Danielson, 42, was found guilty on Thursday of murder, criminal possession of a weapon, tampering with physical evidence, concealment of a human corpse and endangering the welfare of a child.

Danielson murdered his mother, Cheryl Myrick, 58, and his brother, Kyle Danielson, 31, on July 4, 2023, prosecutors said.

According to the charges, on July 5, 2023, at approximately 8:18 a.m., Danielson dragged a large black garbage bag along 104th Street in East Elmhurst and left it on the curb in front of 32-41 104th Street.

At around 2 p.m., police responded to a report of a foul odor and discovered the decomposing body of Kyle Danielson plastic garbage bags and blankets on the curb of 104th Street.

An autopsy later revealed he had been shot in the torso and stabbed approximately 50 times in his head, neck and chest.

Danielson was arrested later that day after police spotted him pushing his young son in a stroller. A search of the stroller turned up a 9mm handgun and a knife. A search warrant was executed at Danielson's home, where police found the body of his mother in a second-floor bedroom. She had been stabbed roughly 38 times in her neck and torso.

"The defendant violently murdered his mother and brother and then cruelly attempted to dispose of his brother’s body in the trash. This was a completely senseless crime that will affect the family members and friends of Cheryl Myrick and Kyle Danielson for years to come." District Attorney Melinda Katz said.

Danielson is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 27, where he faces up to 50 years to life in prison.
