RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. (WCBS 880) — Authorities say they have made an arrest nearly two weeks after a body was found inside a 55-gallon barrel on a suburban New Jersey street.
According to Bergen County officials, the body of 44-year-old Nicole Flanagan, of Corona, was found inside the container just off Teaneck Road on the morning of Aug. 13.
While authorities have not found the suspects responsible for Flanagan's death, police say a Queens man who claimed he helped dumping her body on the street is in custody.
Aquellio Parker, 29, of Springfield Gardens, is charged with one count of second-degree being an accomplice to disturbing, moving and/or concealing human remains; one count of second-degree being an accomplice to desecrating, damaging and/or destroying human remains; and one count of second-degree conspiring with a co-defendant to disturb, move, conceal and/or desecrate a deceased body.
Authorities say Parker turned himself into a NYPD precinct on Sunday, where he is being held pending extradition to New Jersey.
The nature of Flanagan's death has not yet been revealed.
Reports note there was no signs of trauma to her body.
The official cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner.
Authorities note the investigation remains ongoing.
