NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Police are searching for the driver of a red tractor-trailer who they say struck and killed a moped rider in Queens on Thursday morning without stopping.
The trucker struck the man at Northern and Parsons boulevards in Flushing shortly before 6:15 a.m., according to police.
The victim was turning left on Northern Boulevard to go north on Parsons Boulevard when the truck driver, headed westbound on Northern, struck him and then continued driving on, police said.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not been identified.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing as the search continues.
