
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 57-year-old retired NYPD police officer fired his gun at a man who punched him in a Bay Ridge parking garage after an argument early Thursday morning, according to police.

The shot missed and hit a parked car in the underground garage on 101st Street near 4th Avenue at around 5:45 a.m., the New York Daily News reported.
An unidentified man punched the retiree after an argument, police claim.
Police took the 54-year-old man into custody at the scene and charges are pending against him, according to the NYPD.
The retired officer suffered some bruising and went to NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn for treatment.
