
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police released surveillance footage Thursday of a man accused of hurling a subway rider into a turnstile at a Manhattan station earlier this week for not swiping him in.
It happened at approximately 11 p.m. on Monday, March 17, inside of the 23rd Street subway station in Chelsea, authorities said.
According to officials, a 55-year-old man was approached by the suspect who asked him for a MetroCard swipe to enter through a turnstile.
When the victim refused, the suspect then shoved the victim to the ground, causing him to strike his head on the turnstile.
The suspect then fled the station on foot.
The victim sustained a laceration to the head and EMS transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.
