
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Police released photos of a suspect and his scooter on Saturday to help track down a man who is wanted in connection to the sexual assault that occurred in Central Park on Wednesday.
At about 6:30 p.m, a female jogger was making her way through Central Park, near West 70th Drive, when a stranger approached her from behind while riding a blue razor scooter.
The suspect is accused of grabbing the jogger’s waist and rubbing himself against her.
Last seen wearing a black jacket, black sweatshirt, black pants and black and yellow sneakers, the suspect fled on his scooter northbound on West Drive before exiting the park on West 72nd Street near Central Park West.
The victim did not sustain any physical injuries in this incident.
The suspect is described by police as about 20-25 years old, 6’0” and 165 pounds with brown eyes and a medium build.
NYPD’s Manhattan Special Victims Squad is investigating, and anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
