
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Police released video footage of a man on Friday who is suspected of stealing over $163,000 in property from a Brooklyn residence at the end of last month, and of committing a spree of burglaries in the days before.
At about 6 p.m. on March 26, an unknown man forcibly entered the side door of a residence in Borough Park, located near 4213 17th Ave.
Once inside, police said that the man grabbed approximately $163,800 worth of property from the home before fleeing the scene on foot.
Video footage provided by police depicting the suspect was obtained from this incident, authorities said.
An hour before this large-scale burglary, at 5 p.m., the suspect entered a residence in the vicinity of 221 Ditmas Ave. in Kensington.
At this address, the man is accused of taking miscellaneous property worth an unknown value and fleeing on foot.
Three days before these hits, the suspect allegedly broke into a commercial establishment in Coney Island before committing two burglaries in Midwood.
On March 23, at about 5:45 p.m., the suspect forced his way into the side door of a commercial building near 1090 Coney Island Ave.
According to police, the suspect broke into a desk drawer, but it is unknown if he removed any items. In this incident, he is wanted for burglary and criminal mischief.
At 7 p.m. on the same day, the suspect is accused of forcing his way into a residence near 1372 East 7th St. through a window and stealing a victim’s wallet. He then fled through the side door.
Not even an hour later, at 7:51 p.m., the man forced his way into the back door of another Midwood residence, located near 1301 East 7th St.
Once inside, the suspect snatched jewelry and other property to the value of $36,100. He then fled through the home’s side door.
There were no injuries reported in relation to any of these incidents.
