
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are looking to identify a man who used a sledge hammer to break into a Downtown Brooklyn jewelry store last week, authorities said.
At approximately 3:45 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, the suspect entered a jewelry store located at 117 Seventh Ave. that was closed for business by breaking the glass front door with a sledge hammer, the NYPD said.

The suspect proceeded to steal various pieces of jewelry valued at approximately $200,000 before fleeing, according to officials.
