NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man was charged with murder after his mother was found dead with multiple stab wounds to the neck in her home in Brooklyn, the NYPD confirmed.

At 7:33 p.m. on Friday police responded to a 911 call reporting an assault at 135 93rd Street in Fort Hamilton, near Bay Ridge, officials said.

Police said that upon entry officers found a 52-year-old woman who had been stabbed in the neck multiple times.

EMS pronounced the woman dead on the scene.

The victim was identified as Inna Deshkovich, and the house she was found in was her residence, police said.

Thirty-year-old Vladislav Deshkovich was quickly taken into custody and charged with the murder. Deshkovich lives only blocks away from his mother’s residence.

One neighbor told 1010 WINS/WCBS 880 that they heard a commotion around the time of the killing.

“We were watching TV, we heard like heavy running and then screaming, you know we were trying to figure out which house it came from,” she said.

Sources told 1010 WINS/WCBS 880 that the stabbing followed a verbal dispute between the mother and her son.

Neighbors claimed that the 30-year-old wanted money.

Another neighbor said that the victim was a doctor.

“She was great, loved her. She’d see us and ‘oh hi,’ she asked how my daughter was, ‘how are you,’ you know,” he said.
