Stranger slaps boy, 6, across the face near Bryant Park holiday market

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 42-year-old man was arrested Sunday for allegedly slapping a 6-year-old boy across the face near the Bryant Park holiday market.

The boy was on a street corner, outside the park, with his family shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday when the stranger slapped him, according to police and a rep for park management.

The two had no interaction before the assault, according to police.

The boy suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by EMS. His father notified police.

Police arrested David Silva, of the Bronx, on charges of assault, endangering the welfare of a child, menacing and harassment.
