NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A 15-year-old student was wounded in a stabbing Tuesday morning that sent a Brooklyn high school into lockdown, police and education officials said.
The teen boy was stabbed in the abdomen around 9:30 a.m. inside Edward R. Murrow High School on Avenue L in Midwood.
He was transported in stable condition to Maimonides Medical Center, police said.

In a statement, Department of Education spokeswoman Jenna Lyle said: “The safety and wellbeing of our students is our absolute top priority. Following an incident in the school, NYPD School Safety immediately responded, and NYPD and EMS are on site. The building was placed on a brief lockdown which has now been lifted.”
Citizen App video shows first responders outside the school and a helicopter overhead.
No arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
Additional mental health support is being made available to students at the school, according to sources.
