NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A crazed subway shover told a man to "throw yourself on the tracks" before he randomly pushed him onto the rail bed at a Manhattan station this week, police said Friday as they released images of the suspect.

The shocking attack—just the latest of several subway shoves in recent weeks—unfolded on the morning of Monday, Sept. 18 at the 175th St. Station in Washington Heights.

The 64-year-old victim was walking on a southbound A platform at 12:50 a.m. when his attacker came up and made the disturbing demand: "Throw yourself onto the tracks!"

The assailant then pushed the victim onto the roadbed unprovoked and fled the area on foot, according to police.

No train was coming at the time, but the victim suffered three fractured ribs and a dislocated shoulder in the plunge from the platform.

Just a couple of weeks ago, a man was arrested for shoving a 74-year-old man onto the tracks at an Upper East Side station. And earlier this month, another man was arrested for pushing a woman onto the tracks at a Lower Manhattan station.
