Subway rider, 73, punched in face on Lower Manhattan train

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 73-year-old man landed in the hospital after he was punched in the face aboard a Lower Manhattan subway train Sunday evening, police said.

The victim was riding a southbound 2 train near the Park Place station when another man slugged him, according to police.

The victim was transported to New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The attacker fled the area and remained on the loose Monday.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the two men had any contact before the attack.

An investigation is ongoing, police said.
