NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A subway rider was repeatedly slashed by a man he accidentally bumped into at a Downtown Brooklyn subway station, police said Wednesday.

The 55-year-old victim was walking into the Jay Street–MetroTech station just after 6 p.m. Tuesday when he brushed up against the man, according to police.

The man whipped out a knife and slashed the victim once on the cheek and twice across the back, police said.

The victim was transported to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. He’s expected to recover.

The slasher fled after the unprovoked attack. He was still being sought Wednesday.
