NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police arrested a 35-year-old man early Sunday morning for climbing balcony to balcony to break into a third-floor Queens apartment and then stabbing a resident to death.

The victim was asleep in bed with his wife around 2 a.m. at his apartment on 57th Road by Lawrence Street near Flushing Meadows Corona Park when he awoke to an intruder, according to police.

His wife ran out of the house screaming for help, authorities said.

Her husband didn’t follow, and when police arrived they found him stabbed to death.

Police found the man they arrested in the backyard. They detained him after using a taser gun on him.
