Ezekiel Dunn-Jennings is charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the March 9 stabbing at the McDonald's on East 117th Street and Third Avenue.

The New York Daily News reports Dunn-Jennings attempted to make a purchase inside the store around 12:40 a.m. when employees told him to use an automated kiosk instead of ordering at the counter.

However, after he couldn't understand how to use the kiosk, he allegedly went into a rage and began to scream at employees.

As the screaming continued, a 31-year-old employee reportedly came out of the kitchen with a broom to protect his co-workers.

A fight broke out between the two, and police said Dunn-Jennings allegedly stabbed the victim in the back and arms and slashed his face with a box cutter. The suspect eventually fled on foot.

EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to NYC Health & Hospitals/Harlem in critical condition. The Post reports that he has since undergone surgery and is expected to recover.

The stabbing took place just minutes from the site of the fatal shooting that killed 19-year-old Kristal Bayron-Nieves during a Jan. 9 robbery at a Burger King on East 116th Street and Lexington Avenue.
