NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man was taken into custody in the fatal stabbing of a man found inside a Bronx apartment building early Friday morning, authorities said.
At approximately 1:45 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of a man stabbed inside of 808 Elsmere Pl. in Crotona, offcials said.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 27-year-old man, unconscious and unresponsive, lying on the floor outside a 2nd floor apartment, with a stab wound to the back.
EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A 25-year-old suspect has been taken into custody from the scene with charges pending, police said.
Officials recovered a knife at the scene.
An investigation remains ongoing.
The identity of the victim is pending proper family notification.
