
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Two teens have been arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man during a family function in Brooklyn over the weekend, authorities announced on Monday.
A 17-year-old boy, whose name was withheld because his age, was charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder and three counts of criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
The NYPD also charged 19-year-old Joan Chicaiza was charged with menacing, two counts of reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.
Just after 3 a.m. on Saturday March 18, officials responded to knife fight that broke out at an event space on located on Knickerbocker Avenue near Flushing Avenue in East Williamsburg.
Officials discovered a 21-year-old man and 26-year-old man were both stabbed in the torso, and 24-year-old Diego Ramirez was stabbed in the neck.
EMS rushed the Ramirez and the 26-year-old victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, where Ramirez was pronounced dead.
The 26-year-old remains in critical condition.
The 21-year-old man walked himself to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center where he remained in serious but stable condition.
It is unclear what caused the attack, authorities said. A weapon was not recovered and an investigation remains ongoing.
