NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a suspect accused of punching a man then stealing his cellphone inside a Manhattan subway station early Monday morning, authorities said.
According to officials, just before 5 a.m. the 46-year-old man and suspect were engaged in a dispute aboard a southbound 1 train pulling into the 59th St-Columbus Circle station.
The two men got off the train when the suspect punched the victim in the face then grabbed his cellphone, police said.
The suspect fled in an unknown direction.
No arrests have been made and an investigation remains ongoing.
