NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a suspect accused of slashing a subway rider in the face on a Brooklyn train on Sunday night in a random attack.

The 31-year-old victim was sitting with his eyes closed aboard a 4 train at the Crown Heights-Utica Avenue subway station at about 8:40 p.m. when he was attacked.


The suspect approached the unsuspecting man and slashed him in the face with an unknown object before fleeing the scene on foot.

Medics transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County in stable condition.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspect on Monday to aid the investigation. He is described as a man with a thin build, about 6 feet tall and between the ages of 25 and 35.

The suspect was last seen wearing a brown hooded jacket, black pants and red and black sneakers.
