According to police, on March 6 at around 10:53 p.m., a man entered the bodega on Baychester Avenue near Boston Road and displayed a firearm before approaching a 27-year-old male victim and demanding his property.

However, authorities said the victim resisted and began to fight with the gunman.

The victim was able to flee the location on foot and exited the store. The individual followed the victim and discharged one shot at him, striking him in the buttocks.

The suspect then fled on foot.

EMS responded and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition. No property was removed during this incident.

Cops said the suspect is around 20–30 years of age.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
