NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD released images Friday of a man suspected of punching an MTA conductor in the face in an unprovoked attack on a Queens subway train this week.

The conductor, a 37-year-old man, was on duty at the time of the attack in Far Rockaway around 1:25 a.m. Thursday, police said.

The victim was inside the conductor’s cabin of an A train that was entering the Beach 25th Street station when the hooded suspect struck him, police said.

The blow was so intense it caused him to strike his head on the cabin wall of the train car, according to police.

The suspect fled on the northbound platform and hasn’t been seen since.

EMS transported the victim to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in stable condition.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
