NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that killed a 29-year-old motorcyclist in Brooklyn last month.

At approximately 2:30. a.m. authorities responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision involving a dirt bike and an SUV at Thomas S Boyland Street and Prospect Place, in the Weeksville neighborhood.

Upon arrival police observed 29-year-old George Williams with trauma to the head, unconscious and unresponsive.

EMS transported Williams to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased on November 9.

A preliminary investigation determined that the victim was riding a 2013 Honda motorcycle and traveling westbound on Prospect Place when he was struck by a Kia Soul traveling northbound on Thomas S Boyland Street.

The male driver and a male passenger of the SUV abandoned the vehicle and fled from the scene on foot, officials said.

The NYPD Highway Collision Investigation squad is investigating.
