NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Two school teachers were arrested Thursday for allegedly assaulting two 12-year-old students in separate incidents at schools in Manhattan and the Bronx, authorities said.

Brian Thomas, 33, was arrested just after 12:30 p.m. after he allegedly punched a boy inside PS 161 in Manhattanville, officials said.

The boy was taken to an area hospital but was not seriously injured.

It's unclear what led Thomas to clobber the young student.

Thomas was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and harassment.

At about 1:40 p.m., Mohamed Baksh, 70, was arrested in the Bronx for sexual misconduct, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

Baksh allegedly touched a 12-year-old female student's chest.

An investigation remains ongoing.
