NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A teen boy was fatally shot at an Upper Manhattan NYCHA complex early Tuesday, officials said.
At approximately 1 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call of a male shot inside 2937 Frederick Douglass Boulevard at the Polo Grounds Towers complex in Harlem, police said.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the 18-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the back of his head, officials said.
EMS rushed the teen to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The teen's identity has not yet been released by authorities.
According to police, a person of interest was taken into custody at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
