NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A teen was robbed of his $1,200 sneakers at knifepoint on a subway train in Queens last week, police said Monday as they released photos of two suspects.
The victim, a 17-year-old boy, was riding an E train at the Kew Gardens–Union Turnpike station around 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, when he and his attackers got into an argument that turned physical, according to police.
The two suspects both punched the victim, and one of them brandished a large knife and stole the victim’s pricey sneakers, police said.
The suspects fled the train at the Briarwood station, police said.
The victim suffered minor injuries and declined medical attention at the scene.
