NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is investigating after a 16-year-old was slashed by another teen at a Queens high school on Monday.
At 11:40 a.m., police responded to a call from a school safety agent for a slashing at Newtown High School located at 48-01 90th St. in Elmhurst.
According to police, a 16-year-old was approached by a 15-year-old who displayed a knife, and slashed the victim in the right arm.
The 15-year-old fled but was taken into custody at 48-14 90th Street, officials said.
Authorities were able to recover a knife.
The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.
Police have not released information on the events leading up to the slashing.
It is unclear if the 15-year-old attended the school.
