NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A teenager wanted in connection to the fatal shooting a man in the East Village last May was arrested in West Virginia, authorities said.
U.S. Marshals on Tuesday arrested 18-year-old Zymir Humphrey who is accused of shooting 39-year-old Brandon Atkinson in the head near the corner of Avenue D and East 3rd Street at around 11 p.m. on May 15, police said.
Atkinson was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/ Bellevue, where he was pronounced dead.
Humphrey was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police have not disclosed a motive for the shooting or if the two knew each other.
