NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD released surveillance footage on Wednesday of two teens wanted for robbing boys in back-to-back muggings in Brooklyn earlier this month.
The first robbery occurred on Friday, Nov. 7, at approximately 6 p.m., when an 11-year-old boy was walking in front of 1851 East 48th St. in Old Mill Basin when he was approached by the two suspects, officials said.
The suspects allegedly made verbal threats and forcibly ripped the victim's bookbag off his shoulders then fled the scene on foot, traveling northbound on Flatbush Avenue.
The second incident took place minutes later, at approximately 6:25 p.m. when a 14-year-old boy was walking in front of 1709 Flatbush Ave., authorities said.
According to police, the boy was approached by the same two suspects, who pinned him against a gate and demanded his property while threatening him.
The victim complied and handed over his bookbag. The second suspect then stole the victim's headphones before returning them. Both suspects fled on foot, traveling northbound on Flatbush Avenue.
The suspects are believed to be approximately 16-18 years old.
