NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Two unidentified men showed a pistol and robbed a man of nearly $19,000 worth of jewelry on Wednesday on the Lower East Side, police said.
The two men approached the victim, 26, as he entered 57 Stanton St. around 5:30 p.m.
They took out a gun and demanded the man's property.
The thieves took three necklaces and a Rolex watch from the man, with an estimated value of about $19,000, according to police.
After the robbery, the suspects struck the victim in the head with the gun and fled eastbound on Stanton Street on a dark-colored scooter.
The victim had minor injuries and was treated by EMS at the scene.
