NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Wednesday, the first official day of hurricane season, was ushered in with stormy weather — and there’s still more to come.

Thunderstorms hit the Tri-State area Wednesday evening bringing torrential downpours and localized flash flooding.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Newark, Clifton and Passaic, New Jersey on Wednesday night.
After an overnight break from the storms, forecasters predict more bad weather starting Thursday afternoon.
The thunderstorms could include strong winds, hail and even the possibility of some isolated tornadoes.
The good news is the rain should offer some reprieve from the heat.
Temperatures will drop from the 80s and 90s to the 70s on Thursday.
The weather should clear up just in time for the weekend. Forecasters predict clear or partly cloudy skies and pleasant temperatures in the 60s and 70s on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
