NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – TSA officers at LaGuardia Airport intercepted three razor-sharp martial arts throwing knives from a traveler's carry-on bag last week.
“Just a reminder that knives of any type and any color, are not permitted past a checkpoint. Pack them in your checked bag please,” Lisa Farbstein, TSA spokesperson shared on X.
In a separate incident, TSA officers removed a dagger from a carry-on bag at LaGuardia Airport, according to Farbstein's X post. The traveler was given several options: return it to their car, place it in a checked bag, hand it off to a non-traveling companion, or voluntarily abandon it with TSA. The traveler chose to abandon the dagger, Farbstein wrote.
TSA officials urge all travelers to pack such items in their checked luggage to avoid potential delays and security risks. “Pack them in your checked bag, please,” Farbstein wrote.
