NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A truck fatally struck a mom and injured her 18-month-old daughter in Queens on Thursday morning, officials confirmed.
According to police, at about 11 a.m., the 40-year-old woman was walking along the Cross Island Parkway service road while pushing a stroller when they both. were struck by a truck turning near 150th Street in Whitestone.
The mother was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital where she was pronounced dead, authorities said.
Her daughter was taken to Long Island Jewish where she remains in stable condition.
The truck driver remained at the scene where he was taken into custody.
Charges are pending and an investigation is ongoing.
