NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – An Uber driver was attacked in Brooklyn this week by five passengers who beat him and stole his phone, police said.

The NYPD release surveillance footage Thursday of the five suspects—three females and two males—sought in Sunday night’s robbery in Crown Heights.

The 61-year-old driver was transporting six passengers around 10:45 p.m. when five of them suddenly attacked him as the vehicle approached 243 Schenectady Ave., according to police.

They repeatedly punched him in the head and face and then grabbed his phone before fleeing on foot down Schenectady Avenue, police said.

The victim suffered minor injuries and declined further medical attention at the scene.
