Vandal scrawls 'monkey' on NYPD van in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A vandal spray-painted "monkey" on a marked NYPD van in Brooklyn on Wednesday, police said.

The suspect approached the unoccupied van parked in the Parade Grounds Park parking lot near Coney Island Avenue and Caton Avenue around 9 p.m.

He then used black spray paint to graffiti the letters "Monkey" on the passenger side of the van before fleeing the scene westbound on Coney Island Avenue, police said.

An investigation is ongoing.
