NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A vandal set an NYPD officer's BMW on fire on Coney Island on Tuesday night, according to police and a report.

The car, which had an NYPD parking placard on its windshield, caught fire near the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue subway station around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the New York Post reported, citing information from police.

The NYPD officer who owns the car had been working at a nearby post, the outlet reported.

In a memo sent out to Police Benevolent Association members, the union's president, Patrick Lynch, claimed the vehicle was "intentionally set on fire," according to the outlet.

No one had been arrested in connection with the incident as of Wednesday evening, the NYPD said. An investigation is ongoing.
