VIDEO: Police investigate St. Patrick's Cathedral window smashing as hate crime

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are investigating an incident in which an unidentified person smashed a window at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in midtown around noon on Friday as a hate crime.

The unidentified vandal threw a wrench through the glass outer door of the residence for clergy members at St. Patrick’s Cathedral around 12:24 p.m.

The residence is used by Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the current Archbishop of New York.

Video captured by security cameras shows the suspect glancing around before casually throwing an object and walking away.

No one was inside the residence at the time of the vandalism.

The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the incident.
